Florals and Pastels from Pink Blush

I’ve partnered up with Pink Blush to share some of my favorite styles today! Pink Blush is a fun, trendy online boutique that have popular seasonal must-haves and an adorable maternity line- which I wish I knew about when I was pregnant!

Although, to be honest it is a little refreshing not having to wear maternity clothes- I mean as much as I loved being pregnant it’s nice to have more of a variety now without that bump! But now I have a different issue, I constantly have to think of nursing friendly clothes. Especially after some experiences of leaving the house for the day without a nursing top/dress I had to pay the consequence of being in a hot car or in the ladies room for up to an hour. It wasn’t fun. But the beauty of breastfeeding is you can feed anywhere.

So, I picked out two of my favorite styles now: floral print and a baby blue pastel dress.

Also not mention, I am looooving this off the shoulder look. It’s so flattering and can be dressed up and dressed down. And how darling is this print? Florals are so lovely and are perfect for any occasion.

Scoll down to see how I styled my favorite looks this season.

I adore pastels this season. To be honest, I never thought I’d pick out this color but when I did and put it on, I discovered a whole new world of color! Now I have a baby blue dress to match my baby blue-eyed baby. 🙂

Stay tuned if you want to see more of my looks from Pink Blush. I can’t wait to style more of my favorite summer looks!

The Gentleman’s Accessory

Sebastian Petz, Guest writer for Oh La Crème de la Crème (I mean Femme) Blog

There are many men’s fashion trends today in western culture. The common thread with all is that they often involve a heavy adornment of jewelry. Leather-ish or bead-type jewelry on the wrist; bulky leather bracelets and necklaces, often cleated with metal studs or spikes; eye-blindingly bright blinged-out necklaces, bracelets, earrings, finger-rings, and even grills. But a true gentleman wears only one accessory—the watch. And because he only has one accessory to adorn himself with, selecting precisely the right watch to complete his look as the icing on the cake, is of utmost importance.

If you read any of the leading men’s fashion magazines such as GQ or Esquire, you’ll be well aware of their shared philosophy of a gentleman: the suit, the shoes, the watch, and the cut—the last category is a double entendre that encompasses both the hair cut (head and facial) and the suit-cut, each essential marks of a gentleman which I’ll address in a later post.

Back to the watch...today’s featured look is the Dark Sandalwood & Burgundy Conway Series by JORD Watches. JORD has pioneered a new niche within the luxury watches market–natural wood band, frame, and bezel construction. At first glance, the prospect of wood on a watch that’s not your grandfather [clock] seems odd. But upon closer inspection and especially after physically handling and putting it on, it’s fashion and elegance are undeniable! The dark coloration of the sandalwood is dressed-up neatly with three brushed black stainless lines linking it together.

The burgundy face makes the brown and red hues of the sandalwood pop nicely into focus, making the watch the ideal accessory for any navy blue, burgundy, gray, black, or brown themed outfits. In this post, I’m showcasing how well this watch complements a matte gray trouser, pink button-up with white polka dots, and brown suede belt and shoes.

Personally, I’ve always preferred the round face and dial style watches in favor of the square or rectangular. In this Conway Series, JORD has achieved the perfect balance between the size and style of the round face and the width and style of the band—the face to band ratio is immaculate! A feat that is rare among most watchmakers, and in my case, makes the watch appear custom-made (and sized) for my wrist.

The 3-dial chronograph on the face is a classic feature that in combination with the white dial adds enough character to make the watch stand out, without making it appear too busy or overly decorated.

Contemporary and modern home architecture is proof that wood and metal go together like Batman & Robin—Starsky & Hutch—Bacon & Eggs—Peanut Butter & Jelly—Cookies & Milk—Spaghetti & Meatball—you get the picture!

So, in the same way, that wood is the contemporary home decorator’s choice complimentary material for metal and steel design, this watch is fast becoming my go-to accessory for all my sleek neo-classic gentleman looks.

I look forward to bolstering my collection with more of the latest and greatest timepieces from JORD soon!

Tiffany Rose Maternity Dresses Review

Hey Friends 🙂

I’ve been a little MIA on the blog lately because I haven’t been up for too much these past couple weeks…ugh! With only 3 1/2 weeks to go, I haven’t been able to keep up with my usual routine. Although, these days seem to be passing by faster than I can count!  I guess this is the only time I’m my life when I would prefer time to pass quickly, since most days it is a struggle to get out of bed. Oh, the joys of the last trimester. The stories are true. And the excitement is unbearable!

I am planning on sharing some exciting posts in the next few weeks (unless I delivery early ah!) on sharing my guide to meal planning, baby and diaper/hospital bag essentials, along with a birthing story after my delivery. Today I am sharing some beautiful items from Tiffany Rose– a clothing line designed and made in Britain. My Favourite Asos Maternity Dresses

Finally in the home stretch…33 weeks pregnant and 6 weeks to go (from my due date)! It’s just so hard to believe and I feel like a scatter brain with all the “have-to’s” and things on my mind in order to prepare for this little one. I keep saying, “yah, I’ll do that next week.” But time is slipping away and I need to get all of my preparations in order. 🙂

I have had the privilege of working with some wonderful maternity brands through out my pregnancy. One of my favourites was ASOS maternity. I’m sure you have seen many of my instagram pictures tagged with their items. They seriously have the cutest dresses! I have been living in them for most of my pregnancy. Forget pants! All I wanted to wear was something comfortable, yet stylish. Plus, I feel so feminine wearing dresses. And there is nothing more refreshing than looking feminine when most days feeling it is not an option. Ha!

I have put together a list of my favourite ASOS martetnity dresses. Some of which I have styled, and if you keep scrolling, you’ll see some of my favourite latest recommendations. I was so tempted to buy more, but at this point I have wayyyy to many dresses, and seeing that I only have 6 weeks to go, I think I’ll make it through with all the pretty dresses I have so far. 🙂

I loved talking about this ASOS dress in one of my latest post, you can find out more here!

These dresses are so lovely and stylish, AND the prices are amazing (especially since they are on sale now)! Although they currently have limited sizes, I found that it was easy to get them altered in order to not miss out on these awesome prices and styles. 🙂 OR you can check out ASOS’s latest styles that I ADORE.♥

Being pregnant is so much fun, don’t ‘cha agree?

The Delancey Dress

Tiff Marie Maternity. Has a ring to it, don’t ‘cha think? I got the privilege of styling this beautiful dress by Tiff Marie Maternity. I honestly don’t know where to begin with this dress- it’s comfy, figure flattering (we could all use a little bit of that during pregnancy), and you can wear it throughout all your stages of pregnancy! Also, another great thing I love about this piece, is that you can dress it up or dress is down- throw on a chunky necklace, or kick it off with your favourite dress down sneaks (like my current favs that you can find here).

Tiff Marie really introduces, “The Birth of Maternity Fashion”. I mean, where else can you find these styles. I am always on the look out for cute maternity pieces but they often come at a price (no pun intended), cheap material, or too plain and simple! Here are a few of my favourite details of the Delancey Dress.

  1. Bell Sleeves: Ok, if you haven’t noticed, bell sleeves are kinda a big thing right now! They are such a nice touch to a dress, and they really make any piece “pop”!

2. Elastic gathered on both sides-this really ensures a perfect, and flattering fit for any body type.

3. Fabric: This fine piece is made with stretch Bamboo Terry-Back Jersey material (66% Rayon, 28% Cotton, 6% Spandex). So it’s not see-through, not thin material, yet totally breathable at the same time. I actually have a few pieces in my closet that are see-through which makes it so inconvenient to have to wear an under piece- and that’s the last thing I remember before stepping out the door most days!

4. Lastly, it’s so feminine. I’m a sucker for girly and elegant clothing- especially during pregnancy. This knee length piece with bell sleeves really gives off a stylish-motherly look. Pregnancy and motherhood can totally be just that! 🙂

So make sure you head on over to Tiff Marie Maternity and check out her latest collection. Also, currently there is a giveaway happening! Sign up for a chance to win this dress (which also comes in different colours) if not for yourself, then for a friend! 🙂

Baby Blue For My Baby To Be

Hello Friends!

Today I’m sharing another maternity style from ASOS. I have been loving (and living) in their maternity clothes! Not only are they affordable, but they look so chic and stylish- a hard combo to come across these days. I have been living in dresses lately. Now that I’m 30 weeks pregnant (crazy, I know), gained about 30 pounds, and have swollen feet, the only items that I prefer to wear are these breezy dresses, and open toe shoes. Thank God for this So Cal climate!

I must admit, I never thought baby blue was my colour. I mean, I love pastels and light colours especially with spring around the corner, but light blue? Never thought it would go- until I got this dress. It’s so fun and comfortable. Pregnancy should be a combination of both! Also, need I mention that ruffles and off the shoulder accents are a big deal in the fashion world lately? I have been seeing them every where. So flattering, so chic, and so feminine. But what I like so much about this piece is that I can wear it off the shoulder, along with over. Also, I love this length of this very mama- appropriate dress, which is very flattering for the bump.

So, if you haven’t checked out ASOS maternity, do it, now. You will not be disappointed! They also have a wide variety of non maternity clothes and accessories for men and women too.

Check out my direct links below, for more details on where to buy this dress. Stay beautiful mamas!

Tips On Finding Non-Maternity Clothes During Pregnancy

I love being pregnant. But it wasn’t always this way- until I hit my 5 months. I finally have an abundance of  energy (most days), I feel endless kicks and movement, and I have a bump that I can marvel at in gratitude. What a miracle happening inside my body! Every stage has been very different and exciting, it’s like falling in love all over again. 🙂  It’s almost so hard to believe that I’ll be going onto 27 weeks, and almost into my third trimester! It’s all happening so quickly, and I just want to savour each moment.

Some people have been asking about my maternity style, so I decided I’d share weekly updates with my personal favourite styles. ‘Cause I know, It’s sooo hard to find cute maternity clothes, that are affordable, and stylish. I’ll share with you some tips that help me pick out/find the perfect, affordable maternity styles.

This week I am sharing tips on finding clothing items that are non-maternity:

  1. It doesn’t have to be maternity: Maternity clothes can be double, triple the price (no thanks)! So for more variety in my maternity wardrobe I started shopping for styles that I could invest in- styles that I would be able to wear during, and after pregnancy. I mainly look for items that are made of stretchy material, knits, and flowy dresses that make it easier and comfortable to sport.
  2. Look into your closet: This was a big eye opener for me! I couldn’t believe how many items I already had in my closet that would be suitable throughout my pregnancy (this dress being one of them). All you have to do is start there, and then update as you go. You’ll be surprised with what you find!
  3. Still can’t find anything you like? Get it made: This is very convenient for me, because I have a background in sewing- I can easily make a dress or a skirt from scratch. You can do the same with some inspiration or your own designs (Pinterest is great for inspo!). Simply bring your styles to a seamstress and ask for her to sew a piece for you that you have a hard time finding. This is very suitable for events such as weddings, showers ect., where you need an item that is difficult to find.

Your maternity style doesn’t need to be compromised, have fun with it, and enjoy your pregnancy!

Project 2 x Design

Happy Friday!

Today I am sharing a post of my second fashion design project. This project was unique because I made it specially for my maternity photo shoot. (Thank you for all your sweet comments!)

I felt terrible during my first trimester while experiencing all-day nausea and lack of appetite. And I thought I wouldn’t have enough time to design and sew the dress before the shoot. So I started shopping to find a dress instead- but after endless searching, I found nothing. And that’s when I realized I better get to sewing because the date was coming up quick! Thankfully as the weeks went by and as I was entering into my second trimester, I started feeling better! I was able to finish the dress on time (even if it meant finishing the final touches the night before ha!) and I felt great during the shoot…although I experienced some pregnancy cravings kicking in! (Keep reading to find out!)

My Inspiration behind Project 2:

I already conceived a design well before I drew it out. I knew I wanted something special, unique, and feminine. So I quickly sketched out some ideas, and gathered more ideas from Pinterest– my ultimate inspiration! I became very found of the 3-D fabric-look. And I noticed it was becoming a popular trend in wedding dresses and runways. I thought it would be more efficient to buy a 3-D fabric piece butttt it was a very pricey- no wonder it’s used for wedding dresses and runways! So instead, I decided to make my own personalized 3-D look. I drew a simple flower, cut it out and traced it onto the fabric I was using. I took a while, but I would say it was totally worth the look I was going for. 🙂

Here are some of my favourite designs I found that helped gather my final sketch:

*NOTE: These pictures ABOVE are not my own, for direct linking and credits, you will be able to find these photos on my Pinterest page, under the “Fashion Inspo” board.  While you’re at it, check out my pins!

The Final Look

If you know me, you’ll know that I love tulle and chiffon fabric. They make any piece of clothing lovely. These fabrics can really dress up a “look”…if that’s what you’re going for! My bump is hardly noticeable unless I place my hand under the bump. But believe me, it’s there! 🙂

If you notice, on the back side of this dress I created a pleat that would allow for adjusting the waist size of this dress. In case I decided to wear it again once my bump grows.

Here are some close-up’s of the handmade flowers, and intricate design.

This is the front of the dress. I thought the chest pleats would give this dress a perfect touch.

Coming to the end of the photo shot I was desperately craving a BL.T. sandwich. So after the shoot, we stopped by the nearest Panera Bread, and my craving was totally satisfied. Their B.L.T.’s are ahhh-mazzz-ing! This B.L.T. craving lasted for about a week, lol!

A perfect end, to a perfect day.

Let me know your thoughts!

Be blessed,

I.P. XO

Project 1 x Design

Hey everyone! I’ve been a little MIA lately due to feeling under the weather and because we recently made a small move (within LA). But, as I mentioned a while ago, I still thought I’d share my first fashion design project with y’all!

For any of you that know me well, will know that I have always loved fashion design, and anything to do with decorating and shopping (yes, even grocery shopping, I take it very seriously). So, when a fashion class was offered back in high school, I was so excited, I thought I’d never want to go to college or university! But as much as I enjoyed sewing and design, I didn’t think I would see a future in sewing and/or fashion design (which is totally possible if you put your mind to it!). But things changed recently when I thought I’d pick up my sewing hobby. And ever since I had the intention of started a blog, I wanted to make sure I’d incorporate my fashion designs into my blog. I haven’t touched a sewing machine for about 5 years now. But as soon as I got my hands on the sewing machine again, it all started coming back to me! So I have to say that high school fashion class really did me good. (Thanks to Mrs.Lackenbauer, my fashion class teacher… that was the best class I’d ever taken!)

The projects you will see are made from scratch, without a pattern design, and basically no formal training or guide…since highshool. Its a challenged project, but an exciting one! The are no deadlines, no restrictions, and no mistakes. I come up with what I want. And I love it!

This first project was not as hard as I thought it would be, even though I had to familiarize myself with the sewing machine and techniques again, and I think it served as a good introduction project into my next big project (which I am totally exited about)! I have made many little side projects in between, but they were mainly for practice.

Some of you have asked which sewing machine I use, and after much research and thought, I decided to buy this SINGER 7258 Stylist Award-Winning 100-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine. I think it was a great choice for a great price. It was exactly what I was looking for and what I intended to use for my sewing projects. You simply can’t go wrong with the brand Singer!

Inspiration behind Project 1

As I pondered on what I’d make for my first (in a while) sewing project, I thought I’d make something practical. A piece that I can throw in my suit case for a last minute trip, or throw on when I have nothing to wear, or a cover-up at the beach. This 3-way dress was perfect!

I thought the tassels would be a perfect touch. However, while purchasing the tassels at a fabric store, the lady at the checkout asked what home decor project I would be working on, I smiled and told her I had the intention of sewing them on sleeves, she looked a little confused…oh well. lol.

Oh, Malibu.

Let me know what you think! Project 2 is in the process. 🙂

xo,

I.P.
