Pom Pom Obsession

Ok, if you haven’t noticed, pom-poms are everywhere now. You’ll find them on hats, blankets, shoes, handbags- you name it! Although, I really don’t mind it, and I’m really hoping this pom-pom trend will stick around. I have teamed up with Lorena Canals and today I’m sharing my favorite pom-pom blanket. It’s so stylish and cozy. I love throwing it over my sofa, on my bed when it’s a Netflix kinda night, and baby Ev loves the pom-pom details too. I’ve gotten so many compliments whenever I have company over, and I always get asked about this unique pom-pom throw. Well, allow me to tell you a little bit about it! Lorena Canals products offer a home collection for sophisticated adult and kids home goods which are loved by top celebs and picked by Vogue as top baby product for celebrity nurseries! If you haven’t checked out their stuff, you need to here, you’ll totally understand why. Their products are made in India, designed in Spain, so the quality is evident! Also, the neat thing about any Lorena Canals products is that they’re all machine-washable and fit into a standard washer and dryer… that even refers to their stylish rugs, baskets, and cushions. Lastly, all their products are made with natural dyes, handmade, eco and contain no VOCs like most carpeting and rugs AND proceeds support the Sakula project provide schooling for children in India. I know that sounds like a bunch of info, but as a mom, I’m always looking out for the best and safest products to have in my house and especially around baby’s space. And if you’re a mom you know that messiness is inevitable, so having the ability to throw a carpet, basket or a fancy throw in the washer/dryer is a life saver! This is seriously every parent’s dream… ok, and secretly mine too because I can be sooo clumsy at times! Check out some more of my favorite products from Lorena Canals here:

Styled: Embroidery Sweater

With only 5 days until Christmas, my excitement is real! Who else can relate? Since we’re spending the holidays in Canada, I made sure to stock up on all my favorite knit sweaters now that I can finally wear them…meanwhile it’s still summer in Cali-land (but I guess I shouldn’t complain about that).

This pink cut-out embroidery knit sweater from Pink Blush was definitely in my luggage for this trip! I mean, what’s not to love? A chunky knit, blush color, embroidery sleeves, and a neck cut out makes it a perfect-stylish sweater for this season. Also to mention, that it’s a nice length which makes it easy to style with boots or jeans. Buuuuut since I’m not so much a jean-girl, I styled with my favorite black leggings and sock heels. What do you think?

You’ll probably see our little family at the Americana at the Brand (in L.A.)very often because it’s sooo Instagramable- just that’s a word! This time of year they have all the lights, decorations, and Christmas music playing in the background so it has easily become my favorite day trip location. Oh, and they just opened up a Laduree cafe (a cafe originated in Paris) a few months back and needless to say, that may be another hidden motive why we frequent this place so much. 😉

FYI: Cute location=happy blogger. Enough said. 🙂

Don’t forget to stop by and check out more styles from Pink Blush. It’s a one stop shop for in-style maternity, nursing, and women’s clothes!

STYLED: Open Shoulder Sweater

So what’s trending? I’ll tell you…open shoulder sweaters and balloon sleeves this season! I wish I could say it’s sweater weather here in SoCal but it’s more like summer. And I never thought I’d say this…but I’m really dreaming of a white Christmas….just like the ones I used to know- cliche I know, but this hot weather makes me want to go to the beach instead of getting in the Christmas spirit! Cause it’s ever so hot here with the unusual heat waves we are experiencing and all I want to do is wear cozy socks, throw on my sweater and feel like it’s Christmas. 🙂

I’m sure you noticed that open shoulder styles were BIG for the past year, but they’re still hot now…only this season it’s all about sweaters. I love this open shoulder sweater from Pink Blush. The material is so cozy, it’s a pretty nude colour (that goes with everything), and I love the balloon sleeves that work so well with this style. I styled it with my favorite (faux) leather pants and some lace-up heels. What do you guys think?

This is our dress down look. As fun as it is to wear dresses and look super girly, while always matching, of course, it’s also fun to dress down, casual and cozy. Also, another BIG trend this season is pom-poms (anything), we’ve got our pom-pom obsession going on too. Now, can the cool weather paaaaalease show up in So Cal? Cause let’s be honest, this outfit didn’t stay on for too long, hehe. 😉

Stay tuned! I’ll be chatting about my favorite pom-pom trends soon, too.

STYLED: How To Wear The Same Colour/hue In One Outfit

This is kind of a big deal right now, and I’m loving it! All white, all red, all-whatever color or hue you want in one outfit works so well, and it’s so easy. Not to mention it takes 0.3454 seconds to figure out what you’re going to wear when you have your “I don’t know what to wear” moments (meanwhile your closet is overflowing). AND you’ll look like a fashionista while wearing it (#fashionblogger), what a win-win!

I’m not going to steal red’s thunder (the color of the season) but I am really liking this blue on a greenish-blue combination. I love mixing up styles that are casual yet classy…’cause if you guys haven’t noticed by now, you’ll know that I’m not really a dress down gal, but hey…when I do it, I like to do it right. 😉

As you may know, I’ve been working with Pink Blush to style my favourite items and let me say, they have had a wonderful collection this season! Many of their clothes are made to be worn before, during and after pregnancy– and every woman at some point will be in one of those categories, so it’s very convenient to have Pink Blush clothes in your closet, FYI. I also love that their clothes are structured to make every piece look flattering, and who doesn’t like a little flattery? Speaking of flattering, this chocker neck adds a little dress-up feature even though it’s a cozy sweater. I paired it with my favorite trousers (ATM) and completed the look with some classic leopard heels (blue of course). And how easy was it? Super easy. So now you try. Find something in your closet that’s within the same color hue and pair it up. You’ll be surprised at what you find works together to give you a whole new look! A Closet Essential: Mesh

I’m sure everyone is a little busy and anxious right before this long weekend but let’s not forget what we’re celebrating…Thanksgiving, and as for me, this mesh top (ha). Ok well, I’m truly thankful for a lot of things, I feel blessed beyond measure, and I’m fully content with my little family. God is good, He is faithful, and Thanksgiving is such a great reminder of these things. But seriously, I get a little excited when I find a pretty top that’s both flattering and feminine. It’s kind of a hard thing to come across these days when so many clothes are very revealing. I personally like to keep it feminine and classy and leave a little more to the imagination. 🙂 I’ve owned a mesh top for the past few years. It’s so versatile in ways that it can be styled. It’s a classic and essential piece because it never goes out of style. You can use it over and over again with different ways of styling it. Although this particular top has a mesh built into it, you can easily achieve this look with a mesh top underneath too. Below I have listed a few ways you can style any mesh top; How to style a mesh top/dress:

  1. Wear it underneath an open/low cut/strapless dress or top
  2. Wear it on top of a tank top
  3. Wear it under overalls
  4. Wear under a blazer
  5. Wear it underneath a short dress
  6. Great transitional item for wearing underneath clothes for different seasons

This top is particularly my favorite because as you know, I love mesh and this combination works so well together. See how I styled it below, and check out these other similar styles, like this and this.  Many of their tops are maternity friendly, flattering, and perfect to wear for the holidays, parties or get-togethers. Fashion Finds With ThredUP

Who doesn’t love finding fashion finds for less? I know I can get an AMEN from one of you reading this. Well finding nice items at a nicer price is just what I like, and that’s what I found at ThredUP. ThredUP is an online consignment (second hand) store which carries a ray of well-known brands, like some of my favorites, ZARA, Kate Spade, Forever 21 and sometimes Valentino too! To be honest, I was never much of a second-hand shopper until I got older (and wiser…just kidding). And it wasn’t because of the prices- because I always find killer deals. It was more so the idea of shopping second hand. Most consignment stores I have walked into in the past had an awful smell that is similar to an old folks home or a cat litter box. Ok, I’m sorry. That’s a little extreme but I’m sure I’m not alone. So when I discovered this online consignment shop, I thought…it’s about time something like this came into existence… and how convenient! I don’t know about you, but anything to do with online shopping gets me excited (my husband can attest to that too). 🙂

ThredUP has a bunch of items on their site. From maternity to baby clothes, and shoes! It’s pretty cool. Sometimes you really have to search until you find something “trending” so here are some tips that I recommend:

  1. ThredUP gets hundreds of clothes each day; their website is daily updated, so if you’re looking for the best of the best, check throughout the day under “new arrivals” because the cute items go quickly like hot cakes!
  2. If you have an indecisive nature (like me), “heart” the items you like while browsing and it’ll stay on hold for 24hrs- make sure to make an account to do so.
  3. Order a “Clean Out” bag and use it towards your next purchase!

So what exactly is “Clean Out?”

ThredUP doesn’t just sell clothes, they buy them too! After discovering this, I did a major closet clean out and got rid of a bunch of my not-so-mommy clothes (it was bitter-sweet) and many more clothes that have been sitting my closet untouched. You can order a “Clean Out” bag, fill it up with like-new clothes that aren’t getting the love they deserve, ship it back to them (for free), and get money back for them (see guidelines here). Pretty cool.

My ThredUP items: #ad

After using those tips, I finally came across two styles that I love, a romper and embroidery detail.

Romper: Forever 21 fashion find for $9

Embroidery Top: J. Crew fashion find for #12

I wasn’t able to wear a romper for months because I was recently pregnant, so I was very eager to be able to wear one again! I mean how cute is this navy floral romper? And because it’s no longer summer, I styled it by wearing a button up blouse underneath. Now I can wear it all year around!

Next, embroidery. I’ve always loved embroidery details on clothes. It’s so classy, feminine, and unique. It almost saves you from wearing jewelry- especially if you’re like me and are a minimalist when it comes to jewelry. Embroidery clothes are great to style because you can always dress it up or down while still maintaining that classy look.

Shades of Mauve for Fall

Hey, friends!

Labor Day weekend has passed, kids are in school, and the unofficial new year has begun! Fall always gave me that refreshing feeling of new beginnings, can you say the same? I mean, I don’t have any kids going to school, and life is still in a basic routine with my almost 4-month-old- but seeing all the transitional pictures on my social media channels gives me that good-old Fall feeling. I love the feeling of seasons changing. Although So Cal is not really the best place for seasonal change, especially when it feels like summer is never-ending, but it’s finally Fall, and I’m excited.

I’ll be honest, one of the biggest reasons I get excited about the Fall season is the Fall fashion! Knit sweaters, boots, hats, and trench coats are a few of my favorite things! It’s the season where layering clothes is a must and you don’t need to break a sweat pulling it off! Oh, and fall colors? To-die-for. One Fall color that I’m loving right now is shades of mauve.
